Meet flor
Flor(she/ella) was born in Mexico and raised in Denver, Colorado. At a young age, she witnessed the vast inequities faced by immigrants in her community. As a queer DACA recipient, she has also experienced many of these inequities and uncertainties firsthand. Flor’s passion for social justice, grassroots organizing, and public policy emerged shortly after witnessing my community come together to change anti-immigrant legislation in Colorado.
Flor graduated from Claremont McKenna College with a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. Since graduating, she has worked as a Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) Public Policy Fellow in both the U.S. House of Representatives and in the Senate. Flor has also worked as a Communications Fellow with the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee.
She currently serves as the Public Affairs Manager at Movimiento Poder, where she lead communications and policy initiatives. Additionally, Flor recently founded FCM Strategies LLC, a communications consulting firm dedicated to helping nonprofit organizations strengthen their messaging and address communications gaps.
